Technical Skills Training

America's Armed Forces offer a wide range of opportunities to learn a trade, earn a college degree and get experience not found in other career paths. You can learn about your possible success in the military by taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). This test may be given at local schools and is free of charge. Local military recruiters can give you complete information about military options.

Men and women may enlist in all branches of the armed forces. Enlistment procedures are similar, but the services differ in length of enlistment and opportunities for specific training. Active military enlistments are available in the:

Bedford County BASICS

BASICS is a workforce development program designed to significantly improve the match between Bedford County's business needs and educational system priorities. BASICS goal is to inform regional students, parents, and educators of the career opportunities that exist in Bedford County before making education and training decisions.
