Career GatesCareer Gates is an e-media program developed in partnership with PBS Channel 39, the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, Inc., and PA CareerLink Lehigh Valley. This series of workforce and training tools includes DVDs, Digital Learning Channel television shows, and web-based streaming video. The tools highlight job and labor market information, critical workforce needs, high priority/high demand occupations, and career pathways. Teacher guides, developed to supplement the Career Gates series, consist of video description, air times, additional resources, discussion questions, and activities for the classroom. All are linked to Pennsylvania State Academic Standards.

There are over 500 videos of people at work in various occupations showing the kind of work involved and providing the typical educational background. Each clip is about 2 minutes in length and requires Microsoft Windows Media Player for viewing.

BASICS is a workforce development program designed to significantly improve the match between Bedford County's business needs and educational system priorities. BASICS goal is to inform regional students, parents, and educators of the career opportunities that exist in Bedford County before making education and training decisions.
