Work Study Work study provides students with employment opportunities both on and off campus to help pay for school costs. Participation in a work-study program is based on the student's financial need.
Federal Work Study (FWS): Awarded to students who demonstrate financial need. The federal program allows students to earn part of their college expenses through paid, hourly employment during the school year. Apply through the financial aid office at the college you plan to attend.
State Work Study Program (SWSP): Students are able to work in high tech and community service opportunities through this program. To apply to this program the SWSP Student APplication/Placement form must be filled out by the employer and eligible student.

BASICS is a workforce development program designed to significantly improve the match between Bedford County's business needs and educational system priorities. BASICS goal is to inform regional students, parents, and educators of the career opportunities that exist in Bedford County before making education and training decisions.
