The Interview: Good Frankie/Bad Frankie
The Interview: Good Frankie/Bad Frankie is a tool to examine the idiosyncrasies of finding and keeping a job. Real-life situations are used to encourage interviewees to think independently and make decisions about how to handle similar situations in their own life.
The episode revolves around two applicants applying for the same job at a local retail store. Both of the applicants have similar backgrounds and experience, and it becomes clear that the interview will be the deciding factor as to which of them will be hired. Frankie Bad does everything wrong; his appearance is sloppy, his application is a mess, and he seems to have little or no ambition.
On the other hand, Frankie Good gives an excellent interview and makes himself seem like the perfect fit for the job. Despite being played by the same person, the two Frankies make it easy to tell which traits employers value in an employee and provide a number of straight-forward examples of how to act, and how to not act, during a job interview. The narrator also plays a role by posing reflective questions to the audience, which can be used to start a discussion, a writing assignment, or simply for personal reflection.
